Pray for the Republic and Obama Week 73

Father God, as we get closer to the time that we celebrate the resurrection of Your beloved Son, we look to application of Your Word and our circumstances here today. In the times that Christ walked the earth, there was a people, a somewhat religious people who at first embraced the Lord as their Messiah, but when He failed to look like the image in their heads, cast Him aside in pursuit of vanity. Just as it was then, so it is today. I see a lot of people returning to the Constitution, which is wonderful. But I see few turning to You. The Constitution is nothing if not undergirded by Your power. People see, but do not understand this. And, without this essential truth sinking in, they will be doomed.

Wicked people rule our nation. But the nation does not want the medicine they are dispensing. You could intervene, or You could sit back and allow Barack Obama to be a judgment to this nation. Either way, You are just and You are God. We would that You would intervene. Not in a way that brings this party or that party to power. Power without heart change will still wind up in our destruction. We need Your intervention in our church pews. We need You to grip the hearts of the pastors and from them the congregations. We need a revival of Your Holy Spirit to make us what we are currently not - a Christian nation of such steadfast faith that the gates of Hell will shrink in its presence. Lord, we need You. And we ask during this Holy Season that You make Yourself real to us even as You showed Yourself to the disciples following Your resurrection.

Go with us this Lord's Day and throughout this week. Help us to remember all that Christ has done for us and to rest in that provision. Help us to be thankful as we should be. And help us to obey and seek You.

We love You Lord. Help us to love You more.

A much needed prayer and a huge AMEN.

This is your regular call to pray for the Republic.

As I have been leading this effort much has happened in our nation. To call us a Representative Republic, for instance, at this point in time doesn’t seem to be quite accurate. We have leaders who lead the nation towards evil. And while people are angry, they don’t seem repentant.

Please freepmail me to let me know where your heart is concerning this prayer effort. I still believe God calls us to pray for Obama, even though we definitely do not like him. And, I would pray for his salvation - not his success. Still, I would like to know what God is placing on your hearts. What areas do you think should be covered in prayer. I feel bad times are ahead. We should pray unceasingly. Yet, it does get to be very hard when they are that evil. Look forward to hearing from you. And again, please send your response through Freepmail. Keep on keepin’ on. Do not be weary in well doing. We will daily pray for those in authority. We line our hearts up with God’s that all men should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
