Married lesbians? Isn’t that an oxymoron? No such thing in my book!
The child can attend a public school.
They may, but it will bear no fruit. There is ample established case law that supports the school in this instance. It's unlikely that any lawsuit would survive defendant's motion to dismiss.
Essentially, the courts have held that religious schools - like this one - are not businesses, but church's and therefor are exempt from guidelines established by Title VII (which also gives virtually no protections to homosexuals, BTW). As such, the government - because of the broad protections of the 1st Amendment - has no authority or right to dictate to a church who may or may not be a member.
How much more of a punishment is it to teach a child that there are no consequences for your actions?

Yeah, I think that’s the wrong message to send. Not only that, but this goes along with the gay men who “got married” in another state and came to Texas to try to get a divorce. It was an attempt to institute gay marriage by default.
Same thing here. If St. Vincent’s accepted the kid with the paperwork showing two mothers, that is tacit approval for gay marriage, a thing the parish does not support.
It’s not punishing the child, it’s enforcing doctrine and rules.
I don’t see what the big hoopla is abot this. HLN kep playing it over and over. (I was in a VA waiting room, it’s all they had playing).
PRIVATE school. They can do what they want. They don’t want dike parents because they are a perversion of nature, end of story.
They keep pushing. Diversity also means recognizing that people’s religious beliefs must be respected.
A lesbian couple tried this at a Catholic school this year also.
The school is private, and has it's own set of standards for student admission, and if it's anything like “real” private schools with a religious basis, there are morals clauses and participation demands of the parents.
One of the reasons I did not even bother to apply for the “private schools” I could afford, was that they also accepted students who were kicked out of public school, and did not even come close to sharing the schools stated moral and behavioral goals on the part of both the student and the parent(s).
Why pay tuition for what really amounts to a public school education, with a little religion tossed in?
Frankly, I am surprised that the parents of children who attend private, religious schools are not more vocal about the two tiered admission standards.
I would assume that if these people were members of the church they’ve been denied admission there as well.
You win for the correct response. The child is innocent and is being caught in the middle. I would like to see the child have an opportunity to have a good moral education. Maybe he/she will learn something worthwhile before the "parents" yank him out.

You did the children a favor. Prolonged exposure to the type of “Christians” who take out their hate of the parents against the children might push them away from Christianity forever.
Rescuing the children from such an environment must be applauded. Well done.

Oh as others have written, they are not married.
The school is very clear in their statement of faith that they teach orthodox Christian morality. This means they teach that marriage is only between one man and one woman for life. So what happens when this child starts telling her mommies that what they are doing is wrong? Do you support putting a child in that type of situation where wht the school teaches is in direct conflict with the example her parents publicly set?
The parents are the villians in this as they knew very well about the school’s policy. Oh the one mom is named Tracey and the school thought Tracey was a male. It was only after the moms were seen togehter at a school event (I think) that it was realized they were lesbians.
And you are wrong to say the school hates the parents. It hates the sin and refuses to sanction it.
In the story I heard the church has split with those who accepted open homosexuality, so these women knew what they were doing. Just like Islam they want absolute tolerance and give none. Muslims woman working for Disney filed suit because of headscarf which Disney said was not part of her uniform and she signed their a code of conduct.
