I have two additions. Both quite quiet, but forceful in a behind the scenes sort of way.
Bishop Olmsted of Phoenix
Archbishop Gomez of Los Angeles (I think there is a lot going on behind the curtain here, that we don’t hear or see — but in two years or so we will be saying, “Wowzie, why didn’t I notice what was happening in LA?”
Clarence Thomas is an example of a good Catholic.
Hi Salvation,
I’d add Cardinal Burke, Bishop Olmsted, Father Z.
But most of all, an unknown to most. I’d add Subdeacon Sabatino Carnazzo, of the Institute of Catholic Culture (http://instituteofcatholicculture.org/)
I don’t live anywhere near Virgnia, so I’m afraid I’ll never get to hear any of their wonderful lectures in person. But just to whet your appetite, it’s a privately funded non-profit Catholic educational institute, dedicated to restoration of Catholic Adult Education, and all of their past lectures are available of their website. We desperately need more organizations like this, and they need to be recognized.
I would nominate Fr. Roderick Vonhogen for his SQPN website, his Catholic podcasts on iTunes, and for his example of how to be a good Catholic in the tech age.
And, by the way, Salvation IS one of the expert Catholic apologists on FR, and is a blessing to many of us!
Archbishop Timothy Dolan is my nominee. Do I agree with him on everything, no, but I think he is a good man. Certainly interesting and it’s amazing how he “works a room”.
