Don't know why people get their panties in a bunch about stories having to do with magic and good versus evil, but I guess the old saying about Puritans extend to a lot of people today.
I’m a Christian that loves Harry Potter.
It is about good vs. evil, love, and sacrifice, and, at the end of the day, Harry always takes the moral high road.
A lot of people are in your corner, but I don’t know that the antis actually get their “panties in a bunch” over the series; they’re just concerned over what their kids consume via books and movies ... I’m going to try to remember to watch Johnnette Bencovic’s show because we’re huge fans of O’Brien; a smart, thoughtful guy, amazing (according to my husband) Catholic writer and incredible painter too ...
Thinking that some day when I finish a fantasy book and it starts getting criticized, I would make sure to be the loudest critic, under and assumed name, of course. It would keep the name name of the book on everyone’s lips.
Now if he were complaining about all the various vampire books celebrating being undead as a good thing,then,I’d have to agree.Those books are disturbing and get worse the more the writer “develops” the series.Buffy started out destroying eveil but along the way incorpoated a new Slayer who delighted in bragging of wild sex.Kind of ruins the whole storyline .....
