Philippine boxing superstar [Manny Pacquiao] vows help to fight [birth control promoting] RH bill

World boxing icon and Philippines congressman Manny Pacquiao has come out in support of the Catholic bishops’ fight against the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) bill.

Pacquiao, an eight-division world champion and the first boxer in history to win 10 world titles, spoke in the House today during the interpellations on the RH Bill, saying that corruption is a bigger problem than overpopulation and that lawmakers should concentrate on creating laws that will fight poverty instead of promoting the use of contraceptives.

“It’s not the RH bill that is the answer to poverty. The answer to poverty is to end corruption because that is the real destroyer of people and the cause of poverty of the people,” he said.

Pacquiao remarked that his opposition the RH bill was based on his own personal background and, more importantly, on his religious beliefs.

“I cannot be in favor of the RH bill because I am a prayerful person. I have the fear of God in me. My boss is the Lord. I do not want to disobey the commandment of the Lord,” said Pacquiao.

At a press conference Tuesday following a lunch meeting with members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Permanent Council, Pacquiao said he never would have been born had his poor, unemployed parents turned to modern birth control, and called on his fans to back the Church and “follow God’s command, not man’s.”

This is good. The real problem in the Philippines is simply corruption. They do not need to be exterminated in a Planned Parenthood abortion fiasco. Go Manny. Support Life.

It IS very corrupt. As long as you have money, you WILL get anything you want. My bro is married to a Filipina and I’ve been to Manila a couple of times. You want a drivers license, NBI report without lining up? Witnessed it. But I still love it there.

It is easy to like a country where life is cheap and everything is for sale - IF you have money.

I used to have a Filipino supervisor that told me about the practice of ‘salvaging’, which meant that some locals would kill a person (usually a lost tourist or someone who had fallen out of favor) simply to strip the body of any valuables. He never admitted to being involved in it, but was arrested a few years later for trying to smuggle machine gun parts to the Abu Sayyaf terror group.

That said, I have also known plenty of wonderful Filipino people.

Wow! At one time I was assisting a small private school evaluate an exchange program to Mindoro Island, Philippines. My investigation determined the proposed Filipino host was a Moslem activist sympathetic to Abu Sayyaf. The proposal was dumped. Unfortunately, the scorned party discovered my identity, office address, etc. About a month later, my office recieved a bomb threat. Our whole building was evacuated and the FBI traced it to Maynila.

Got 8 years in the PI. Scars as proof.

For the last thirty years, my job required me to travel about to the larger cities of this nation In these travels I noted that there was a slow disappearance of thinning of the numbers of minorities in the inner city area, followed by urban development. This development ushered in affluent types to occupy the expensive renovated or new constructed condos on land formerly occupied by the minorities.

I then read that the Planned Parenthood sites were invariably located in these poorer inner city neighborhoods and followed the minorities to new areas.

Is there any correlation to the location of Planned Parenthood sites, the disappearance of minorities in the inner cities and the untold wealth made by those investing in these urban renewal properties?

In future periods, historians might well terms these occurrences as genocide and attribute blame to those politicians who were guilty of complicity in this reality. I wonder which group the developers, the politicians or the Planned Parenthood types will be attributed the largest share of the shame.
