My understanding is that many people's lives were ruined, financially and otherwise, because of this man. I have also heard (but waiting for substantiation) that there were even some suicides because of outright fear of what this man was preaching.
Sued....? I think this man should be looking at prosecution and jail time at the least.

Really? Prosecuted, jailed for posting his opinion.
Stupid people lost their moneies and perhaps some lost their lives, but it wasnt because of what Camping said, but instead because they were intellectually or emotionally stupid.
And one can never legislate to protect all instances of stupid.
