WRONG: So where is the cross of CHRIST. For 2,000 years the name of Christ IS. And this organization used that name, CHRIST, as part of their nameplate mission. BUT now, no more. When someone or any organization refuses to use the name of Christ, then they ARE ASHAMED of the gospel of Christ. Why do I say this?
Well, consider when someone or some org refuses to be identified with the name of Christ - especially after having used the name CHRIST as part of their nameplate mission - then that someone/organization is OFFENDED by the name of CHRIST. The true motivation of removing CHRIST from their nameplate and well-known goodwill mission, is because now they are finally offended and ashamed of being recognized by the name of CHRIST. By removing that name, CHRIST, from their nameplate they are abandoning the decade old goodwill mission of the name of CHRIST that they currently have. It's exceedingly sad to see the caving-in to lessor purposes that the name of CHRIST shall to be removed. Apparently, since that name of CHRIST offends, then the preaching of CHRIST will also offend people, so they remove CHRIST's name to subvert the offense when sharing the good news to people. Since the name of CHRIST is far superior, and a name that is above all names, then removing it can only be the motivation of being ashamed of His name and offended by His name: CHRIST JESUS: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
Christ Jesus said in Matthew 10:34: Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Christ Jesus knew that His message would offend. And today, the gospel of Christ and His name offends. Try preaching to people about God without the mention of CHRIST; it is worthless: it has NOT the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16). The gospel of Christ is NOT specifically about connecting people to God's love, but rather and more fully, the gospel of Christ is about saving people from their sins, so that they can be made free from sin, and become servants to God, and receive everlasting life. Furthermore, IT IS ABOUT the free gift of salvation from the death and penalty of people's sins, and Christ crucified, and raised from the dead to forgive ALL SINS (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). IT IS ABOUT warning people from the god of this world who has blinded the minds of them which believe not (2 Corinthians 4:4).
When CCCI plans to remove the name of Christ, they are removing the offense of Christ's cross. Labeling it only God's love without the name of CHRIST and the CROSS is demonstrating that they are ASHAMED of the gospel of Christ and the cross of Christ.
For me: I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

Christ Rejects the Unbecoming... [I would have to reject this on the basis that CCCI is REMOVING the name of CHRIST]

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never know you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart form me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.
Luke 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart form me, all ye workers of iniquity.
It's not a light matter to remove CHRIST from your preaching or nameplate, as CCCI is doing. Remember, God sees the motivation of the heart and the motivation for this act by CCCI is none other than offended by the name of CHRIST and ashamed of the gospel of CHRIST.
There is absolutely NO valid justification for removing the name CHRIST when it was formerly use as a nameplate in goodwill and mission: but now removing it is demonstrating that they are offended by the name of CHRIST and ashamed of the gospel of CHRIST.
I have been a supporter of CCCI for a long time, but this name change, unless the C in their new initials stands for Christ, will result in their organization no longer appearing on my check stubs. The founder, Bill Bright, who passed away not that long ago, is probably spinning in his grave.
When they drop the Name of the Savior, there is something else afoot. What does the new regime have up their sleeve with dropping Christ, and going with the generic “love of God”? I would not be surprised if some genius at headquarters got the brilliant idea to buddy-up with the mooslims or something.
There is something more here than a simple name change! This actually comes as a shock. Recent newsletters have told about great annual spring evangelizing at ferry terminals where muslims from Africa cross over to Europe on summer vacation....and on their return trip. Can’t wait to receive a newsletter explaining why Christ has been given the left foot of fellowship, and how that will result in a better ministry!
I see this all the time.
No longer are there “Churches” or “Chapels”.
Now they are called “Teaching and Worship Centers”
or
“Family Life Centers”
or some other lukewarm name.
Very, very sad.
I am very eager to comment on it in public for all the world to see and judge.
By the way, I have sent CCCI Brand Manager the link to this post, so maybe we will get some feedback regarding the removing of Christ.
Cru - I am crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. Are you cru?
I am of the Faith. I am not into New Age spiritual gobbledegook. Check out Google. The first entries I pulled up on "cru" were a NYC wine bar; a neighbourhood restaurant and a type of data port for computers.
Say hi to the Wiccans for me.
I'm sure that the feeling is mutual about cru on the part of Christ...
Just like so many churches today: they conform to the sinner/the world and don’t expect the sinner to conform to the church and the Word.
