It was the abuses that followed VatII that were radical.

One cannot deny that the new mass is licit. Even His Holiness celebrates it.

However, in Latin or any vernacular, it is grossly inferior to the Tridentine Mass in all regards.

Yes you are right - even I fell into the trap of allowing the V2 fetishists to frame the debate by using their term.

I don't reject the NO; I do, however, reject the typical NO parish.

After years of trying to roll the giant boulder up hill to get the tiniest of concessions (a little chant for the ordinary, maybe singing a few of the propers instead of "Gather" hymns) I'm punting. It's a lot easier to drive the 30 miles than to fight the NO love affair with mediocrity.

It also doesn't hurt that the FSSP priests aren't afraid to proclaim church teaching.
