Anyone who began listening to SW in the ‘70s often easily stumbled on Family Radio within minutes of their first time using the radio.

I don't know which SW station was more annoying, "Family Radio" or "Radio Tirana."

My first radio with SW bands was a Bristol in 1976. I remember the strongest stations: VOA, Family Radio, the BBC, Radio Moscow (with the hum), Radio Canada International, Deutsche Welle, Radio Nederlands, and yes, the exciting Radio Tirana, which would broadcast two hour essays along the lines of, “The Marxist Progressive Movement of the Proletariat in the West is Growing in Size and Strength.”
