My children went to Mt St Charles in RI. Too bad they didn’t give an award for excellence in hockey. All kidding aside I was very satisfied with their overall educational experience there. Well worth the money not to have them in a public school.

Surprised there aren’t any Catholic High Schools from the Toledo, Ohio area—St. John’s Jesuit. St. Ursula, Notre Dame...

LOL! My husband went to Jesuit, and I can already hear his excuses for why they did not make the list, but Mount Carmel (horror!) has a mention.

Pope John Paul the Great in Dumfries VA is brand new. Glad to see it doing well so fast.
Also, I went to Cathedral Prep in Elmhurst NY way back when. I think Pius IX had just convoked Vatican I... :0)

I wonder how the Cardinal Newman Society defines “civic education” and why there weren’t any schools that merited recognition in Catholic identity AND academics out of the ones that were recognized in two categories. Of the two schools with “Aquinas” in their names, one was recognized in all three categories and the other was recognized in academics. St. Thomas, pray for us!

Sure wish I lived closer to The Highlands (and that my job was closer). Dang good school. But JPII in Plano is close by and even though it didn’t make this list, I am impressed by what I’ve heard/read about the school. Now I just hope I can afford to send my kids there.

I am from Elmhurst. Elmhurst Avenue. A bit of a walk. I used to take a bus from Ridgewood to Broadway and Justice Ave. I think it was 5 cents with my student bus pass. I remember a deli on Broadway that had good knishes.

Detroit Catholic Central class of 1974 here.
But back then, it was in a more humble setting, not the multi-million dollar complex it is in now.
Lots of well-to-do alumni out there.
