There are rough edges here on earth. But through sufficient faith we can appreciate that they are part of the plan, part of the game, not things that God in ignorance forgot about. And we can hear Jesus telling us not to sweat it too much.

Actually I was thinking of three examples that apply to current humanity in general and US specifically:
1) Isaiah and what happens when time runs out and how it's dealt with.
2) Sodom and Gomorrah are another example of who and what we've become again and how that was dealt with.
3) Nineveh and the choice we currently have in front of us, though not as out in the open as the deal made to Nineveh.
