Psalm 58 (When Rulers are Unjust and Judges Not Upright)
BibleStudyTools.com ^ | David

Posted on 06/26/2013 6:22:05 PM PDT by xzins

1 Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge uprightly among men? 2 No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth. 3 Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward and speak lies. 4 Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears, 5 that will not heed the tune of the charmer, however skillful the enchanter may be.

6 Break the teeth in their mouths, O God; tear out, O LORD, the fangs of the lions! 7 Let them vanish like water that flows away; when they draw the bow, let their arrows be blunted. 8 Like a slug melting away as it moves along, like a stillborn child, may they not see the sun.

9 Before your pots can feel [the heat of] the thorns-- whether they be green or dry--the wicked will be swept away. 10 The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.

11 Then men will say, "Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth."

The Word of the Lord is sharp and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Thanks for sharing God’s Word.

I wonder if our Glorious Dear Leader will find the Holy Bible illegal because it speaks critically of tyrants, and God’s judgment against them?

God is not mocked Barry!

Another thing -- my opinion, but based on fact.

The Lord's Prayer used to end with

"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil ONE.

Perhaps we need to add that under our breath.....I do.

AMEN!!! God will not be mocked. He is watching and he shall bring judgement upon those who mock him and his laws. The Justices who bring upon unlawful and immoral laws upon this once great nation shall stand before HIM and they will have to answer directly for the destruction of this nation that God once blessed.

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. (I Peter 3:3-13)
