Priest here. He had anointing oils and only a priest can give the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

But I still vote for an angel disguised as a priest.

Not true. Pastors of many denominations use annointing oil. Actually I think any elder/deacon in a Protestant church could do the same. Laying on of hands is what we call it.

Certianly could have been a priest, however.

Given the oils, I would take bilocation over an angel—but would bet on a living priest, though Padre Pio is an interesting thought. Supposedly one day in recreation one of his brethren was telling a story about someone who had been in five places at once, to which Padre Pio replied: “Really? I can’t imagine being in more than three.”
