Dawkins resorted to the notion of space aliens when confronted with the lack of time required for the complexity of our earth.
The amazing part of the interview was when Dawkins not only postulated that earth may have been seeded by conjectured space aliens, but he stated flatly that THEY had evolved. So, even though he has not a shred of proof of their existence, they MUST have evolved. In that one assertion Dawkins proved irrevocably that his views on evolution are not based on fact, but are merely a religious belief.
