Yes he is, but this whole "issue" is just the media trying to stir something up. A lot of modern people leave the faith of their youth. They shack up, might even have a few kids. God keeps calling them home. So they go to the priest repent of their premarital arrangement, get married, get their kids Baptized and hopefully continue to grow in faith. I see nothing scandalous here.

The Catholic Church works this way. Go to Confession, repent, stop that sin and all is well. It's the way it has always worked. People who are not Catholic do not have to like it, but that's the way it is.

I think too many on FR have been reading way too many liberal websites. Pope Francis did absolutely nothing new or scandalous when he married couples that have been living together.
