Few realized when Small is Beautiful was published that E.F. Schumachers economic theories were underpinned by solid religious and philosophical foundations, the fruits of a lifetime of searching. In 1971, two years before the books publication, Schumacher had become a Roman Catholic, the final destination of his philosophical journey.

I must say I'm pretty annoyed at Joseph Pearce or whoever it was that titled this article. (Somtimes its the copy editor that does that.) E.F. Schumacher was not a "liberal environmentalist," and disguising this good article with such a stupid title undermines Schumacher and what he stood for.
OK.
Having said that, it's a worthwhile subject to 'm with Schumacher every time.
