The Gospels were written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses, many of whom were hostile to their message.
The Gospels detail the undeniable fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, proving the divine nature of the Bible.
This is the reason that this guy is attacking the Gospels.
Should be called Reza ASS-lan.
What does he say about the veracity of the Koran?
This guy is a muslim. If he wants some real comedy, he should read the Quran.
Wow, a Creative Writing professor with such knowledge of the Bible! I’m impressed!
I may be going out on a limb but I think the gospel will survive this critique.
Reasons I should care what Reza Aslan says about the Gospels:
The Gospels have been attacked for years. None have succeeded in proving them incorrect or unhistorical. This attack will fare no better.
Gods word WILL be preserved. This clown will turn to dust and the world will forget him, but GOD WILL PREVAIL!
ping for later ...
Maybe he should try doing this to the Koran
This guy also wrote that Global Jihad is a Social Movement
the 2nd or 3rd installment of the 2014 per-Christmas attacks on Christianity. To be continued with a pause in January & February to create more attacks for Easter.
Better than Reza have tried before.
There’s nothing new under the sun.
People have been claiming that for centuries and keep getting proved wrong by archaeologists.
I’m sure his bibliography of source material is... interesting.
If anyone is interested in a real scholar, and not a self promoting lead-them-all-astray Islamic fake, consider:

“Jesus and Christian Origins Outside the New Testament...”

These are excellent books for any introduction to the New Testament and to history. They would be good gifts to provide to any confirmation class at confirmation. Young Christians are poorly prepared to defend their faith when they enter secular universities. The New Testament IS historically accurate.
Islam...well...Daughters of the moon, Flying horses at night, Jinn, 3 versions of Momo’s introduction to Allah or Gabriel, or the evil spirit (or whatever, brothels in the sky... Sure, pure history!
How about you and Salon get back to us when you report on the inconsistencies, inaccuracies, lies and just plain inanities of the Qur'an?!
We'll wait...
I am reminded of the words of St. Peter:
We did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty.
For he received honor and glory from God the Father when that unique declaration came to him from the majestic glory, This is my Son, my beloved, with whom I am well pleased.
We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain.
