No, the modern day religious leaders are just like the scribes and Pharisees of Christ`s day.

The former leaders wanted to go by the letter of the law from God who they never believed in, they believed in the religion only because it was power.

The religious leaders of today do not believe in God either but they do believe in power so they Change the laws of God which give them power.

That is what I meant.
