Astronomical sales of a tiny figurine of the Protestant reformation figure Martin Luther, have confounded its maker, Playmobil, by becoming the fastest-selling Playmobil figure of all time.

The German toy manufacturer announced this week that the first edition of 34,000 pieces sold out in less than 72 hours, forcing the company to urgently request its factory in Malta to produce more of the so-called “little Luthers”. Fans have been warned that the next batch will not be available until the end of April.

“...he had very modern ideas. He believed every person had the right to an education, including women and girls. In this aspect, he was a very 21st century man.”

When the “good” Srs of St Mary of Namur were teaching me, they told us “the Jews killed Christ”...pretty common belief it seems

I am shocked!

I just looked to see how much they cost and they are selling on eBay for up to 1,000 Euro. If you buy them at the Tourist information center they are only 2.39 Euro.

but his words were filled with such venom that it could have caused others to take action,

Sin. Beyond that payback. At the end of the first century Jews still had a 'dispensation' from the Romans in that it was recognized that they didn't have to participate in the Caesar as god ritual. Christians did, and many were killed for not doing so. We can see by the churches mentioned in Revelation that much of their troubles came from Judaizers and the Jews themselves.

Paul talked about the stumbling block of Christ Rom 9:30-33.

none of whom were Jews.

No ethnic Jews as followers of Christ after the Apostles?

You are correct. The answer must always be that the wicked Jews killed Jesus.

There was a trial held in Troyers, France on 12/23/1974, called The Jesus Trial, and it considered the question of just who killed Jesus. 3 justices presided and the Chief Judge Pierre Bondouaire rendered the verdict: the Romans were guilty - the Romans killed Jesus.

A related optional question: when Jesus was killed, did he actually die?

Considering that the term Christian first came into play in Antioch as sort of a nickname for these followers of Jesus, my question is:

When a Jew became a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, did he cease being a Jew?

If He didn't actually die, how can anyone be accused of killing Him?

Exactly. Also, how could He be resurrected if He didn’t die?

Could you tell me why Paul wrote the letter to the Roman church? What two main errors was he addressing?

my sins,

all of our sins,

...killed Jesus.

I agree that’s one of the reasons why Jesus died.

The question concerns who actually carried out His execution.

"No wonder the Roman Catholic church was against him."

Yeah, the same Catholic Church that sponsored and supported all manner of art and education (for which it is often criticized by Protestants today, just as Protestants of yesteryear sought out and smashed this selfsame art). It's quite funny that in your worldview the Catholic Church is an enormous bogey-man responsible for every possible ill. German peasants couldn't read? Blame the Catholic Church! Protestant reformers were spewing anti-Semites? Blame the Catholic Church! Modern South America is impoverished? Blame the you-know-who!

Whatever. Enjoy your playmobil.

No, Jew is an ethnic as well as a religious label. If one was a Jew by ethnicity and became Christian he remained so, but no longer practiced Judaism. I think the problems identified in Revelation and Paul's letters with Judaizers indicate there were many Jewish Christians, otherwise why would they bother Christians.

ALL of Paul’s letters, not just the Romans letter is very important.

Just what Paul meant. People who tried to convince Christians to return to the bondage of the law. To make mandatory Jewish customs.
