False equivalence on Paul and Timothy.....keep the context of the passage in mind when reading.

Oh, OK. You're talking about the pope specifically?

I found this:

Old English, via ecclesiastical Latin from ecclesiastical Greek papas ‘bishop, patriarch,’ variant of Greek pappas ‘father.’
Interestingly enough, the Vizier of the ancient Davidic Kingdom, which is the Old Testament type for the papacy, is described "as a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Juda." (See Isaiah 22)
