My prayer for ME ... every time I sit under preaching ... is for me to be more worthy of the name "christian" for having heard this

Well, actually I do a lot of that in ways you might not believe. i was called and tasked many years ago. Boy what a battle. Can’t describe it to most people.

But I keep it generally pretty quiet for a whole lot of reasons.

I so agree. I love to hear the Word expounded. It is the highlight of the service, which is the highlight of the Sunday, which is the highlight of the week!

My prayer is for the Holy Spirit to teach me and my fellow congregants so that we can bless others. And, for the Holy Spirit to give an unction to the teaching of our pastor.

I love hearing my Pastor glorify Jesus during every sermon. It is uplifting to be in a crowded church with so many believers hearing and attesting to His Word - same reason why I need to get to another Promise Keepers event sometime in the near future - nothing like being part of thousands of men worshiping at the same time.

Disclaimer - I'm not always in agreement with all the opinions that one hears at a Promise Keeper event, but the overriding theme is the same - God is our Father in Heaven and He and Jesus love us so much that no sacrifice is too much for His children.

Yep. We’re gearing up for school to begin August 18. I’ll be teaching 12 in my classes from bunches of countries (I haven’t tallied that stat yet). Again, I’ll be going over the unfolding of God’s Covenant from the Covenant of Creation (pre-Genesis) through the Covenant of Redemption (Revelation). Also, in Ancient Civ, I’ll be covering how God worked through the peoples in Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, China, Greece, Rome, and the early peoples in the Americas. It sounds like a lot, but I want the students to see how He has been divinely orchestrating things throughout the world. I also teach language arts.
