How about this is being ‘you and your God’ and leave it at that...
Since when are we ‘priests’ and have to hear confession???
I didn’t tell Trump what to say, I didn’t publish the article, I just found it interesting.
Had he said “the things I ask God for forgiveness is between God and me”, that’s a perfectly acceptable answer, instead he said hasn’t done anything that requires forgiveness. Anyone who is a Christian should be troubled by that answer from someone who purports to be a Christian.
1John 1:
[4] And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
[5] This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
[6] If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
[7] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Are you trying to say that this doesn’t bother you? Pride is a sin and this reeks of pride.
You don’t understand what God calls ALL of us to do which is confess our sins to HIM (not a human priest) and turn from our wicked ways and turn towards Him.
No man is good; no not one.
Tell it to Trump.
"I'm Presbyterian, he said. "Boy, that's down the middle of the road, folks, in all fairness. I mean, Seventh-day Adventist, I don't know about. I just don't know about."Donald Trump: No apology for questioning Ben Carson's Seventh-day Adventist faith
