JW is a wacky cult.
I saw a picture in one of the stories talking about Prince’s death, and the caption said that it was taken at a La Raza event. Anybody associated with these racists is a racist in my book. Can anybody substantiate this happened?

I like Prince. As an artist and as a person. And I recognize the validity of portraying sinners in one’s art, and that doesn’t lead to damnation. But it seems odd to call him a practicing Jehovah’s Witness. Not as bad as calling Ted Kennedy a practicing Catholic. And God knows I need more practice at being a good Catholic, myself.
I would. I rate 3-4 guys better than Hendrix. Prince is one of them.
I’m going to get and plant a purple basil or mint in the veggie garden today. Gotta stop watching Prince footage, I’m more upset than I thought I’d be.

wasn’t hendrix in his 20’s? Prince had 3 decades more time, career. I don’t see how people can compare.
If you really want to upset a JW just tell them they’re polytheists. They worship two gods. There’s the Mighty god and then the Almighty god with Yeshua being the lesser god. (God in this case is necessarily lower case in tune with their beliefs)
I think certain exceptional musicians makes this an apples/oranges comparison. In terms of technical virtuosity I think Hendricks was better than Prince. But, I think Prince was a better musician and could just make his guitar sing prettier than Hendricks. So, which makes one a "better" guitarist? You can say the same thing, for example, about David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. He could make some of the prettiest guitar solos I've ever heard but even he admitted he could in no way be considered a "virtuoso" on guitar. But there are plenty of Guitar virtuosos (Steven Vai for example) who I don't think are nearly as pleasing to listen to as Gilmour. At some point it all becomes a matter of taste.
Without Hendrix, there are no “3-4 guys”. Hendrix invented, the others derived.
I don’t want to diminish Prince, but a good amount of his stuff was a pretty blatant pastiche of Sly and the Family Stone.
I never cared much for Prince or his music, and I don’t know or care what was his religion, but if he didn’t vote for Buckwheat I like him better already. I’d buy him a shot of Yuscarán for that fact alone!
