Statists and proto-fascists in government need “religious support” for all their social-engineering schemes, and they need to confuse and demoralize actual Christians. Hence the need for a fake organization to supply the MSM with the leftist narrative framed in religious terms.

Yes, they do persuade, dupe or control some churches - but these churches are on the verge of extinction.
