The rabbi may well be surprised when he wakes up dead in a place he didn’t expect to be for eternity.

In Genesis 3:12, Eve is referred to as he. In Genesis 9:21, after the flood, Noah repairs to her tent. Genesis 1:27 refers to Adam as them.
In the first two, I have no idea what the "scholar" is talking about. Eve is she and Noah's tent is his.
He is correct about Gen 1:27, but the Bible is talking about mankind, using the word Adam for both the individual and the whole. A very common practice in ancient history.

I believe that both Christians and Jews can agree that this “rabbi” is a bissel meshuggeh.

Genesis 1:26 Then ELoHIM said, Let Us make ADaM in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. 27 So ELoHIM created ADaM in His own image; in the image of ELoHIM He created him; male and female He created them.
In the image of ELoHIM He created him; male and female
