ROME, December 23, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) In a new interview with the German newspaper Der Spiegel, one of the four Cardinals of the dubia has said, Whoever thinks that persistent adultery and the reception of Holy Communion are compatible is a heretic and promotes schism.
Cardinal Walter Brandmuller made the remark while speaking with Spiegel reporter Walter Mayr about the dubia the as yet unanswered questions asked openly and officially by four Cardinals seeking to have the Pope clarify potentially heretical interpretations of his Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia.
In a separate interview released today by Vatican Radio, close papal confidant Cardinal Walter Kasper says the Pope has been clear in Amoris Laetitia and that the Pope confirmed his take in his statements approving the approach of the Argentine bishops. The letter to the Argentine bishops to which Cardinal Kasper refers has Pope Francis saying that it is authentic to interpret Amoris Laetitia in a way which permits Holy Communion in limited cases to divorced and remarried couples with no possibility of annulment.
In Catholic terms, that means communion for those living in adultery as per the words of Christ Himself: (Lk 16:18) Every man that divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery: and he that marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.
Taken together the statements demonstrate the stark difference between the approaches of various Cardinals to the dubia. While for some the openness to changing the Church on the matter means outright heresy, for others it is a necessary and Holy Spirit-driven evolution of the Churchs teaching or at least pastoral practice.
Cardinal Brandmuller told Der Spiegel that clergy have no right to alter Christs own teachings. We are, according to the Apostle St. Paul, administrators of the mysteries of God, but not holders of the right of disposal, he said.
The stark difference between the top leaders of the Catholic Church has apparently not been lost on the Pope. Der Spiegels Mayr reports on a rumoured saying of Pope Francis to a very small circle in which he said, It is not to be excluded that I will enter history as the one who split the Catholic Church.
Mortal men and religions can prevent other sinners from participating in their games but they cannot deny them access to God - Jesus ensured that.
Merry Christmas....
>>Yet, God will open His Kingdom to even the worst sinners
IF they repent.
Those who unrepentantly pervert forgiveness into permission, OTOH, will be experiencing eternity from a different perspective...
Rev 21:88 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."
NIV
Who have faith, repent and have a sincere purpose of amendment. The sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross is not license for us to continue in our sins.
>>Whoever thinks that persistent adultery and the reception of Holy Communion are compatible is a heretic and promotes schism.<<
...yet hundreds of pedophile priests were allowed/are allowed to continue their ministries in the church after sexually abusing children for decades. They would be discovered, relocated, given counseling and returned to the pulpit to again abuse young children. Worse yet, those same pedophile priest would administer the Holy Sacrament to others.
I’m not attacking the church y’all. I realize some of you will take it that way. I’m just confused as to why the church takes such a dogmatic stance on one issue and totally glosses over what is a much more serious one. Child sexual abuse at the hands of a priest.
The Church is the body of ALL believers in Christ.
Eph 5:29-33 29

Col 1:18-19 18 NIV Col 1:24 Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

How about to democrat “Catholic “ politicians pushing abortions
Of course it is. Not sure the direction, but hey, thanx for posting these great words of scripture for us this morning.
who gaf!
tired of seeing this bs!
Just Plain Dick @ planet WTF!
+++++++++++
“..who gaf...”
St. Paul, apparently: 1 Corinthians 11:29
>>Of course it is.
It’s not so “of course” to everyone; especially if they haven’t been encouraged to comprehend scripture with their own eyes and free mind.
righto!
Two different circumstances. Here’s an analogy:
The sexual abuse situation in the Church is similar to activist judges and others who are corrupt and in leadership positions in the U.S., under the guise of doing their jobs correctly, allowing some of their employees to get away with heinous crimes.
Bishops announcing, with the obvious support of the pope, that they will allow Christ in the Eucharist to be abused is similar to the U.S. President and and top officials announcing that it is legal for people to begin to participate in the destruction of the most important part our Constitution.
Also, Frankie and the Jesuits at Syncretic-Accommodations & Casuists-R-US might want to pay special attention to the “ALL Liars” clause:
Rev 21:8
8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
NIV
The Church must be honest with itself.
It cannot condemn remarried Catholics when it is giving a pass (annulments) to the rich and powerful, like the Kennedys.
Remember Paul's lamentation about doing that which he would not do and not doing that which he would do - and he had met the risen Christ in person. And that the poor in spirit (those who continue to act sinfully and have sincere regrets about it) will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
We cannot know the spirit of others as they know themselves, and more importantly, as God knows them. Who are we to "deny" them access to God and keep them from participating in that which is designed to honor Him? Sounds almost like the pharisees in action.

Ok, we're closing in on it...the point you're trying to make that is. Could you come on out with it? lol Not being snarky, just trying to follow where you're trying to lead.
Being "honest with itself" is not going to get the Church very far if she ignores the plain words of Jesus, that someone who divorces his spouse and marries another commits adultery.
It's like watching a Michael Voris video.
