It’s money to be given to God. This can happen in a variety of ways.

If one digs through the Pentateuch, the tithes in two years of the 7 year cycle were to go to what we would think of as charitable sorts of things, and the tithes in four of the years were to be used during the pilgrimage feasts—1/30th for God in ways that we think of for God, 1/15th for celebrating God festally.

You are right, we are not flexible. I am just one of those who left the catholic church, and gives to an evangelical church.

Wow...I didn't know catholics had such flexibility in terms of tithing.

Well of COURSE!

They have ONE level of Heaven; unlike MORMONS who have THREE.

Your tithing percentages make QUITE a difference which level a MORMON finally attains in the afterlife...

HEAVEN-The Mormon church teaches there are three levels of heaven (three "degrees of glory"):

Celestial - for Mormons who have kept ALL of the laws and ordinances of their church.
Terrestrial - for religious people who aren't Mormons and for Mormons who have not met the requirements of the Church.
Telestial - where unbelievers go

Refer to #10 below....
