My wife is a very devout Roman Catholic. She’s also old school devout. She goes to Latin mass and wears the lacy thing on her head.
I was gathering paperwork to take to the tax preparer early this week and asked where her donation statement to the diocese was. “I didn’t donate any money this year.”

May I make a suggestion? Encourage your wife to write a check to one of your local Catholic grade schools. Actually write, “St. John Catholic School” on the line, so it can’t be deposited to any other account. These little schools are taking it on the chin on account of the diabolical Pope.

Us too. We give nothing to our parish directly, about 20% goes to the Bishop.
Our donations go to an orphanage run by devote nuns (we know them) and to schools trying to instill the faith. There are many Catholic schools just as bad as public schools so you have to get to know them as well.
Giving tithes is harder now.
