Pure evil can never be forgiven. It must be eliminated and prevented from spreading.
Forgiveness is for mistakes, not murder and mayhem.
Wrong.
Forgiveness is for everything.
...Forgiveness is for mistakes, not murder and mayhem...
Even Jesus forgave the criminal next to him on the cross. That is one difference in satanic Islam and Christianity. Christian victims of Islam are free to forgive their tormentors. An islamic savage doesn’t do that.
While we are alive, Jesus is pure mercy for us. We need to ask for it always.
At the moment of our death, Jesus becomes perfect justice. We will need to answer for our words and deeds while we lived.
Then you would exclude yourself from heaven. Sin in any form is pure evil in the presence of a holy and righteous God. Jesus died heinous sinner just as much as for the casual sinner.
So in other words, every human born must be eliminated.
We’re all pure evil until the Son of God, Christ becomes our reason for being.
"And when they came to the place which is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on the right and one on the left. And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:33-34)
Forgiveness does NOT mean what they did is ok, or that you should not stop or prevent evil any time that it’s possible. It means you won’t carry hatred and bitterness in your heart for them , you won’t seek revenge, only pray they will repent and turn to Christ. It also doesn’t mean you think they should be let off any legal consequences.
I respectfully disagree.
I have defended myself with violence. In one occasion, extreme violence.
But I forgave my attackers. Will leave it up to God to judge them. Not my job.
The Copts are speaking from the heart of Christ. That us where forgiveness for “murder and mayhem” is to be found. Even forgiveness for the worst of all crimes, the crucifixion of the Son of God.
“Forgiveness is for mistakes, not murder and mayhem.”
Thank God He doesn’t believe that!
Stubbing your toe in the dark is a mistake. Leaving your coffee cup on the roof of your car when pulling out of the drive way is a mistake. They don’t need forgiveness. Sins need forgiveness and sinners (all of us!) need it most of all!
Then Jesus words of *Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do* for those who were in the process of crucifying Him mean nothing to you?
We are to forgive as we have been forgiven and there’s not a one of us who doesn’t have the potential to be just as bad as the one’s we abhor.
But for the grace of God, go I.
And you, too.
Because in your heart, you have already committed the sin, just as any of us who have hated someone has.
God sees the heart and when you have done in your heart He considers that you have done.
Lust = adultery and hatred = murder.
Forgiveness is what sets Christianity apart from every other religion.
Jesus died for forgiveness. All have fallen short of the glory of God. This act may well resound among the Egyptian Muslims—No such forgiveness is found in the pages of the Koran. Reminds me of the Amish who suffered the deaths of their children to a murderous fiend. Worry not-—the good book tells how it will all end—we win.
There is a difference between the charity of forgiving the murderer, and the foolishness of allowing the murderer to kill, if you have the means to stop him.
