Feast of the Ascension

The Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,[1] also known as Ascension Thursday, Holy Thursday, or Ascension Day,[2][3] commemorates the christian belief of the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven. It is one of the ecumenical feasts (i.e., universally celebrated) of Christian churches, ranking with the feasts of the Passion, of Easter, and Pentecost. Ascension Day is traditionally celebrated on a Thursday, the fortieth day of Easter (following the count given in Acts 1:3), although some Christian denominations have moved the observance to the following Sunday.

Today is also Father’s Day in Germany and our 17th Wedding Anniversary. :)

Going soon for McDonald’s breakfast. Then to the Botanical Gardens where they currently have a cactus special event going on (I recently got a small cactus for my Birthday.). Finally to a restaurant for dinner (possibly Mexican). :)

But I tell you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

Happy Ascension Day!

The message from the two men in white is exceptionally interesting. The seeming paradox is evident by the context.

Acts 1:10-11 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

In like manner, not in the opposite manner. Hence their asking, "Why stand ye gazing up?" Thus they continue to inform the men of Galilee why they shouldn't be physically looking up... because...

"This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

From the ground... up. Now that's truly in like manner, but doesn't fit with the expectations, which are of opposite manner. That doesn't even seem to make sense, what with passages about the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven and such. Yet these two men made a particular point about direction, perspective. The Word of God is way more plain and out in the open than people might think.

Parallel paradox (logic puzzle):

Elijah was carried up to heaven in a whirlwind. He did not experience death. Yet,
Elijah returned as John, whose birth narrative is recorded.
John said that he was not Elijah.
Jesus said John was Elijah.
Elijah - the original fellow named Elijah - appeared in the transfiguration (at some point after John was beheaded), and appeared along with Moses, who did die.
Nobody is lying; the text is all true.

Patterns, blueprints. Truly Elijah will come first to restore all things, like how to solve logic puzzles. Mathematical reasoning, it all makes perfect sense in a Captain Obvious sort of way.

Spiritually look up, while physically looking down [to earth].

This same Elijah, who was taken up from you into heaven, came in like manner as ye saw him go into heaven.

From the ground, up... because Elijah returned as a baby who was named John. And from old people who were "too old for that", no less.

What will tomorrow reveal? :)
