so every word, or utterance he ever made is in the bible? I don’t see where those verses say anything about written words. Surely you can see that. I have no qualms with the scripture, but it is clearly said by speaking or letter, it isn’t that hard to understand that.

No one has ever claimed that.

If you read the entire passage of 2 Thessalonians chapters 2 and 3 you will see what these traditions are that Paul speaks about.

When Paul wrote he encouraged, and in some cases instructed, his letters to be shared among the churches.

Like the Apostle John said, if everything Jesus ever did was written down, the entire world is not big enough to contain the things that could be written. So, nobody would ever say every word or utterances Jesus made while here on this earth is in the Bible. But also like St. John said:

Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:30,31)

And that is but one of the numerous verses that say things about the written word. Would you like me to post some more of them? We can be assured that what HAS been written is what God wants us to know, believe and obey.

I understand the point you are probably trying to make - it is one Catholic apologists use regularly to assert the Roman Catholic church magisterium and whatever they say is "Tradition" are as authoritative as the Divinely-inspired word of God. I hope you realize that this simply cannot be the truth - that the words of men are equal to the sacred word of God. The church, Christ's body of believers, are to be in submission to what God's word says and not the other way around. St. Paul stated:

Take note of anyone who does not obey the instructions we have given in this letter. Do not associate with him, so that he may be ashamed. (II Thess. 3:14)
