Just to further the story - tonight Osteen said he couldn’t open his church earlier because parts of it were flooded - he produced photos to supposedly show the flooding - he says it is now open with air mattresses available for those who need a place to sleep in those parts of the building not still flooded.....
It’s just partisans looking to score points for their own church, I don’t believe I’ve heard of any parishes opening sanctuaries to flood victims but Osteen is an easy target, he’s flashy, his theology is suspect, but primarily he’s nominally Protestant so they pile on. There’s a word for this: hypocritical.
