Just what the Most High Lord of Hosts wants: to be treated to a visit from the pagan elephant god prancing through His Holy Temple.

Besides, the man currently called the Pope is a rabid liberal. There’s no way he’d allow the GOP mascot inside a church.../sarc>

A video of the procession shows people clapping and taking photos as the statue of Ganesh, the elephant-headed Hindu god, processed through the church past statues of Catholic saints toward the altar. How is this any different than what Roman Catholicism allows with statues of Mary?

Unbelievable. Allowing a pagan idol to parade around inside a (supposedly) Christian church. They should be evangelizing them instead of enabling them.

Weird. I doubt the Hindus had any particular interest in seeing one of their idols paraded around a church, and the church must have realized it would offend countless Christians. I can’t imagine many Hindus even live in Spain.

You might have saved your grandson from some trouble.
The great thing is that you cared enough to say something.
Lot of people dont care, and even those who do sometimes they rather not make things uncomfortable by saying something.

The Hindus have a can-do attitude. You have a Kant-do attitude.

While I don’t agree with that either, you can’t compare it to processing an idol of a Hindu deity around. IIRC the Chinese dragon is a symbol of good luck, not a pagan deity.

We know some likeable hindus. Go ahead and like them.
But don’t be them.
My niece had a beautiful Hindu friend. At college, a professor tried to get her in bed. She refused him. He was angry that she had the audacity to refuse him. So, he falsely accused her of cheating in his class, and she ended up expelled from college.
Why did her parents not defend her? Why did they not fight this outrageous man and this unjust expulsion? They figured it was karma. They must have done something wrong in a previous life, and this was the inevitable payback.
Don’t be a Hindu.

“Don’t be a Hindu”.
I’m not a Hindu and I don’t need your telling me not to be one.

I like Hindus. Peaceful. Beautiful.
So do I. But their deities should not be processed in my Church.
