Monsignor Pope Ping!
Sunday after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory FOREVER!
The Altar is shared by statues of Mary and Joseph, I see this morning. The Cross is at a higher elevation, but they are there.
Never, ever have seen that before.
Have not contacted the Parish about it yet, but seems wrong to me. As if Christ has to share the Glory.
Comments? Am I missing something?
People like to make light of sin today, saying such inane things as, Im basically a good person or At least Im not as bad as that prostitute over there. So youve got $500 in your pocket and shes only got $50. Big deal; the debt owed is three trillion dollars. None of us can even come close to paying it off. Without Christ paying the difference, were finished; off to jail; off to Hell. We have all committed the infinite offense of saying no to a God who is infinitely holy. You and I just dont have the resources to turn back the debt.
Wait, that can't be right. I thought Catholics believed in earning salvation through works. /s /s /s /s
NOT ... !
RE: post #4:
I look forward to your input on displaying the statues on the Altar, if you are so inclined.
I understand a similar thing is present in a nearby Catholic Church, although they are placed next to the Altar, not actually on the Alter near the Tabernacle.
I understand about veneration. And the role The Virgin Mary played in bearing our Savior. It is unprecedented and seems unnecessary, if not inappropriate.
Thank you.
