As a 74 year old Catholic, until about 4 years ago, I never even imagined that I would see my Catholic Church disintegrate before my very eyes. It is a sad time for all Traditional Roman Catholics.

understood.
a danger of a highly-centralized power system is that one guy at the top can do a great deal of damage

(of course, a danger of highly-diversified, dispersed power is the loss of uniformity)

it is not an easy thing...
indeed, one could argue quite cogently that the RCC has managed to maintain relative consistency on most of its “core doctrines” at least, for longer than any other organization on earth?
but yes, i do “get” your concern with the current pontiff
