No.

Yoga is low grade witchcraft.

The stupid is going to be strong on this thread.
Wasn’t there space in one of the athletic facilities for them to lay out their mats and do their stretching?
Christianity doesn’t have sacred places, unlike islam and others. When “the church” leaves the church building, it is just a building.
And yoga has many facets, one of which is cultural stuff. It’s neutral regarding Christianity in the same way that what store you buy your groceries at is neutral.
However, if you get into the spiritual trappings, that is where you can get into trouble.
Same thing with Feng shui. I’ve seen it used in interior decorating effectively, and I’ve seen people use it to perform chants regarding “bad spirits.”The former is spiritually neutral (cultural). The latter is not.
I do yoga cuz I feel good, it's good for me, and it gets me off the couch..
If that's evil, give me more..
What is the Yoga philosophy? Does that belong in God’s house?
Yoga? No because it is basically an entry level to eastern mysticism.
Other stuff I have no problem with. A church is a building, not some sort of sacred ground.
Many churches meet in a room that can be quickly transformed into a gym.
our church has a separate gym. The area where we meet for church meetings is called the auditorium, not the sanctuary or something implying special room.
Last night, I had 60-70 boys and their parents in there for a Trail Life USA meeting. We even led them in a song about swallowing a worm and regurgitating it.
I do yoga at the club when I'm not playing racquetball or lifting weights. Makes me feel great
There is no religion in yoga
Would it be ok to hold church in a yoga studio?
I would accept it in the church basement or a social gathering are but NOT EVER in the sanctuary.
Uh...no, No, and NO!
There has got to be other spaces where these Yoga exercises can be done. The fact they are doing Yoga in a room so obviously designed to be spiritual for Christians was not by accident. At a minimum, it is in bad taste and not respectful of those who hold such views.
Paul rebuked the members of the Corinthian church that had changed the Lord’s supper into a potluck, and doing so at the place of worship. He said, “What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in?” (1Cor. 11:22).
Same should go for exercise. (I’m sure back in Paul’s day most folks had a much more physical life, and therefore didn’t need to an aerobic workout.)
Most folks could get their workout done right in the house/apartment (and do it much cheaper) if they would only discipline themselves.
I’m a trucker, and they mostly don’t get enough exercise. But, occasionally I will see drivers doing calisthenics and jogging at truckstops. I’ve managed to keep a regimen that can be done in the sleeper (if it’s zero out, you make a way.) My current driving job has me home almost everyday, and the old Nordic track ski machine gets used 3 or 4 times a week.
I’ve heard stories about how the gyms are effective at damaging marriages. I fear God enough, and respect my wife enough to not go to a place that encourages a wandering eye. Don’t need TM to mess up your life, when just going to a gym can do the job as well.
The mission of the church is not to conform to the culture. Exercise in the gym. Or the library. Or the park. Or the grocery store. There is nothing about yoga that glorifies God, and only that which glorifies God should be going on in the building of the church.
What goes into someones mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.
How many angels fit on the head of a pin?
Next irrelevant question please.
What goes into someones mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.
NO!!!!
