"Rabbi" John Carrier is not an Orthodox rabbi. His "ordination" comes from the Zeigler School of Jewish Studies, which also ordains women. That in itself tells me EVERYTHING I have to know about this guy or what he has to say. It is against Jewish law to ordain women. Authentic Torah Judaism does not recognize female rabbis. From what I've read in a brief research about his "synagogue", it takes an "anything goes" approach to Judaism, meaning they do not follow Jewish law, but ad lib as it pleases them. Therefore, what they claim to practice is NOT Judaism, but some "Jewish style" religion.

This means you can take whatever this character said about Jewish holiday practices wih a grain of non-kosher salt.

Any observant Jew knows this. You don't need to be a rabbi to know that women may not be rabbis, for several different reasons.

EinNYC is correct in this matter. "Female rabbi" is not Orthodox Judaism.

Do you know a youtube (or other) link to an Orthodox Judaism explanation of the various Jewish holidays (or other good Orthodox Jewish links you can recommend), either in link(s) here or by FREEPMAIL?  (Thanks in advance.)

The simplest thing about Yom Kippur is, yes, Gd is prepared to forgive us all our sins against Him this last year.... but first we have work to do in our own lives. We must ask those we have sinned against (even accidentally) for forgiveness, and try to make amends, and give to charity, and pray. Then He is prepared to forgive us those sins we committed against Gd.

For a couple minutes / hours / days thereafter, we are sin free!

And then you will find us all in Home Depot, the only day of the year we might be found there, in some cases. (Buying tools or parts for the sukkah, the hut we will be building in our yards the day after Yom Kippur to prepare for the festival of Sukkot where we will eat our meals in the sukkah for 8 days.)

Yes, he is still correct. No female rabbis in Orthodox Judaism (i.e., authentic Torah Judaism, to distinguish it from modern progressive offshoots that leave Orthodox Judaism).
