Many parts of the Bible are not literally true. There are numerous parables. There are visions left to us to interpret. There is poetic language.

The apostles ask Jesus to interpret his parables, and to tell them what they mean, several times.

Some phrases are used in several different ways where in context, they have different meanings. We need to pick one in each case.

Literal meaning of the Bible, as I have looked at it, is far from clear in a lot of cases.

I often ask God for clarification.

I’m not sure what your point is... if the thoughts expressed are true, then what are the implications? Does God command people to commit genocide? Can we worship such a God?
