I would note that Genesis 1.14 tells us one of the reasons God created the “light in the expanse of the heavens” was for “signs”.

good point. Attempting to turn a speculative argument like this into something of theological substance is why Thomistic scholasticism was ultimately rejected as essentially useless.

It moved. I think it’s possible that it could have been the throne/wheel that moved by the Cherubims in the book of Ezekiel. I do not believe that the star that shined directly over Jesus at birth was natural.
