Yosef is known throughout Jewish writings as "Yosef the Tzaddik." We are taught (Proverbs 10:25) that "A tzaddik is the foundation (yesod) of the world." If a tzaddik is the foundation of the world, and Yosef is called "Yosef the Tzaddik," Yosef is therefore associated with the quality of foundation (yesod).

Joseph From the Kabbalistic Perspective
As we have already seen, early on Joseph is linked to the fulfillment of Jacob's legacy.These are the generations of Jacob, Joseph was seventeen years old ...[Genesis 37:2]
At the outset, the Torah connects Jacob with Joseph. Of all his sons specifically Joseph holds the key to not only Jacob's but the family's mission. In this Torah portion, we will examine the implications of that mission from the mystical -- that is Kabbalistic -- standpoint. To do so, we must go back to the point where all it first began:
Genesis 37:3
Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he made him a striped tunic.
"Olam" means forever:
yesod olam (יסוד עולם), 70 + 156, or 156 + 70:
יס + ודעולם
יסודעו + לם
Joseph (יוסף) = 156
his old age (זקנים) = 207 = ohr, raz (mystery)
