A good sincere Catholic and a good sincere Protestant, while striving for the same goal, disagree irreconcilably on which path (ie doctrines) lead to that goal. I could definitely agree with that, especially since I have been in both camps. There are certainly some areas of agreement, but other areas (ie: doctrines) are irreconcilable.

Your assertion needs clarification. What goal are Catholics
Striving for? What goal are Protestant believers striving for? ... I believe that they are very different, for Catholics tell me they are striving to obtain salvation.
