Cardinal Kurt Koch, the president of the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity, has suggested that ecumenical work will be productive only if the faithful engage in “self-evangelization that includes conversion to the ecumenical search for Christian unity.”

Is it just me, or does the Church seem a bit weird of late?

This Cardinal should convert from being a jackass to being a genuine Catholic.

I guess that depends on which flavor of Christian one happens to be. I’m Lutheran. It is plain to me that the Catholic Church is still out in the weeds after all of these centuries.

There is Christian unity. That doesn’t mean that Catholics and Lutherans and Baptists and Anglicans and Presbyterians and Methodists and Greek Orthodox etc. are all going to see eye to eye, or agree on every issue of faith or what is dogma. As long as we all believe in Christ, there is a very important unity. That doesn’t mean we’re all going to form one big mega church, but that’s a good thing. It keeps us all thinking and growing our faith.

Any Christ centered believer who puts there faith in him via his grace is saved.

The rebellion of the church must be complete.

Well ...

The Church (The called-out ones) is not what the World, Media, and culture are Labeling it as.

Defn: The word “church” comes from the Greek word ekklesia which is defined as “an assembly” or “called-out ones.” The root meaning of “church” is not that of a building, but of people.

The version of “Church” you are referring to is indeed weird.

It is not the Biblical Church that is weird. It is a human construct, that has been called the Church.

Ecumenism must shift to faith in Christ-plus-nothing. There is NO other gate.

More like totally off the rails. Or driving into the ditch.

“self-evangelization that includes conversion to the ecumenical search for Christian unity.”

That's one way of stating the issue. The simpler way is, "Who makes the decision when faithful Christians disagree about something important?"

If by being "ecumenical," the good cardinal means I get to decide and he will agree to accept my decision, I am all for it. But I suspect that's not what he means.

He does think that, and so does his pope. What neither of them believe is the "ecumenism of return" to the Catholic Church.

You understand an important distinction.

Where have you been? Can you be a little more specific?

If Christians wants to receive the promise they must forsake
their religion and come back to the word of God.
