Papal leadership in defense of Christendom also symbolically ended with Pope Pauls return of the Turkish battle flag captured by Christians at Lepanto.

Wow, I did see the Tiarra in the Basilica, but had no idea that Pope Paul VI returned Ali Pasha’s battle flag to the Turks.
That would be like China going to the Moon, plucking the American Flag (are there more than one?), and returning it to us.
Except that the Pope did this.
Did they mention how many Brownie Points Pope Paul VI scored with that stupid stunt?
