To: Mrs. Don-o; Salvation
Now, ealgeone: my dear, in all these GReepin' years I observe that your stance toward the Mary-related, Mystical-Body-related, and Church-related Scriptures seems to be, not explaining them, but explaining them away.

But they have been explained previously. I've shown you the Greek and how it relates to the passages in Luke we are discussing. I'd have to go back and dig through a lot of threads to find them...but they're there. Others have presented similar arguments.....Paul being the foremost of these in his writings to the church at Rome where he notes ALL HAVE SINNED. He doesn't carve out an exception for Mary....none of the writers of the NT do.

In my post to salvation I showed where the verses she's citing in Isaiah and Revelation are in contradiction to each other. The Scriptures don't contradict each other.

"Direct or categorical and stringent proof of dogma" of even the Trinity cannot be brought forward from Scripture alone, because of God's extraordinarily rich teaching method, which is via signs, parables, and seemingly scattered dots that have to be connected.

But it can.

But again, you're now arguing with the writers of the Catholic Encyclopedia. They are the ones who wrote this...your fellow Roman Catholics.

When one sees how the dots are connected, one says, slapping one's brow, "Oh, of course!"

Now you seem to be arguing the age old position of the Gnostics....you have hidden knowledge that only members of the organization can see.

But if you don't see it, pray to Our Lord the Holy Spirit, Who will lead His Bride into all truth.

In the words of Scripture moved by the Spirit there is no direct or categorical and stringent proof of the dogma. The CE admits this. There is no secret insight needed on this issue because it isn't found in Scripture!

The Immaculate Conception, along with the Marian dogmas, stand in contradiction of Scripture....unless you practice eisegesis...reading something into the text that isn't there.

I know this is difficult as you've been raised Roman Catholic for I'd say the bulk of your life. This stuff has been drilled into your head.

If you honestly read Luke and compare to Romans you will find Rome's position is in error on this dogma.

Just read the texts without any commentaries and ask God to show you the Truth. He will. He guarantees it.

Well, asking God to show me the Truth has been my practice every day of my life. And He has sent the sent the Holy Spirit to remind the Church of all His teachings --- the Church which includes me.

But I do know I don't pray enough. And --- feeble as I am --- I ought to throw some fasting in there as well.
