Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
When a famous person gets in trouble, either through their own actions or through no fault of their own, most will do what we call "Lawyering up". In fact, many retain a large retinue of lawyers based on this contingency. There are many kinds of lawyers, most dealing with civil matters such as wills, business documents, real estate, and so on. They are important, as the intricacies of Civil Law can be very arcane and confusing. There are also lawyers who work for the State, who prosecute alleged criminals. They can be very skilled and dedicated to their work. Then there are lawyers who defend against these prosecutors. In our country, everyone is assumed to be innocent until PROVEN guilty...or at least that's the way it's supposed to work.
It doesn't always work out that way, and sometimes criminals get away, and innocent people suffer for crimes they did not commit. Some defense lawyers are great at what they do, others just do the minimum and collect their fees. It's like that in every profession, but lives are not always so obviously at stake in other professions.
In this Name Of God, He Himself tells us that He is Our Defender! What a Wonderful Concept. Thank You, Lord!
