The Underground Church will not be wiped out. It will go back underground for the time being and it will grow. They may have to do without a Pope for a time but they will sustain themselves. The Underground Catholic Church as well as the Evangelicals in China have a Mission that draws them on snf the Communists can’[t do much about them cannot without returning wholesale to Maoism and thus taking China out of the Industrialized World.
