Thanks for reading/watching, and God bless!
This is the official ping list for Depths of Pentecost: Im a Christian blogger who writes weekly Bible lessons. Topics range from Bible studies, apologetics, theology, history, and occasionally current events. Every now and then I upload sermons or classes onto YouTube.
Let me know if youd like to added to the Depths of Pentecost ping list. New posts are up every Saturday.
Another good article. Thanks for sharing.
One point though: Christians do not “control” the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who must control us.
Yeah, I know. I wanted to be careful how I phrased that! But the Holy Spirit is something we have every right to use however and whenever we need Him, thanks to Jesus. If anything, Christians need to be as bold with the power as Elijah was!
While what you say is very true, asking the Holy Spirit to enter us if we are unclean or have impure motives will create much turmoil in ourselves.
I am so screwed.
Amen!
Bold as Elijah, dancing like David danced

:) we would all be in big trouble but, here is the key, He is our righteousness.

I hope that was by Mrs. Laz. ;^)
Good reading. Thanks for keeping me pinged! If you are ever in SoCal, let me know and I’ll show you around the parishes I volunteer with. God bless.
Is that similar to “Thou protesteth too much?”
Of course, and I've also written about that extensively. The Bible is filled with plenty of examples of people who mishandled God's power and paid a terrible price for it (Nadab and Abihu, and the sons of Sceva being two stark examples).
You’re quite welcome! I post these every Saturday if you’d like to be put on the ping list.
Never been West of the Mississippi, but if perchance I ever do end up in SoCal you’ll be the first to know. :) I would consider it an honor to work with you guys!
A lot more fire will fall when we all come together let go of lies and be willing to embrace truth that we have rejected.
I believe that when the Pentecostal side of the Church embraces the stricter Baptist solid foundational beliefs and rejection of the spirit of entertainment (eternal security being a huge foundational doctrine), and the Baptist side embraces the gifts of The Holy Spirit for today, which are the tools to build on that solid foundation, then we will see the Church become the powerful Church of God that it is meant to be.
Isn’t it strange how these two sides of the Church often disdain each other with great pride, thinking that they have all the answers? It’s time for each side to humble itself and accept the good of the other side, and reject the bad of their side.
When you tell us about miracles that have taken place I would appreciate it if you would fill us in. Please tell us examples of these mighty miracles, with any verification that might exist for them. I think that this would be of great hope and encouragement for many.
In 1999, my Mom was dying of a brain tumor. She was prayed for and instantly healed. The symptoms went away. Never sought medical treatment and is living a healthy normal life 19 years later. She had a CAT scan a few years ago that reveals a tumor-free brain, although I’m not sure if she still has the image.
Also, there was a young couple at my church several years ago that went through a similar experience. Their newborn baby had an inoperable kidney tumor and was told it only had a few days to live. Our church got together and prayed over a blanket, anointing it with oil. Then it was given to the baby to sleep with in the hospital. The next day, the kidney was gone and the doctors were at a loss to explain it. It was cleared to go home. Today, as far as I know (it’s been several years) the child has grown up to live a normal life.
Thank you for your examples. Many who do youtubes don’t have time or realize that many of us would rather read their talks. For me, a quick reader, it takes me much less time to absorb a message by reading it than listening to it. Also, people at work, or somewhere noise isn’t appreciated, can take a quick peruse too. Also, a hard copy can be made, if desired.
