I'm hoping for the same drug cocktail courtesy if I ever fall into an irreversible coma.

I do not want to slowly die of starvation or thirst like that poor woman in Florida did after her husband pulled the plug on her many years ago, after a long court battle.

Even in a coma, some part of your body, maybe even some part of your conscious mind, understands that you are experiencing agonizing thirst and hunger, and you are completely helpless to stop it.

Interesting how most in the UK hate our death penalty but are perfectly OK with euthenizing the innocent and helpless.
