Yet, Roman Catholics claim Peter is supposed to be the "Vicar of Christ"....and he was married.
Seems like Roman Catholicism, as it almost always does, places an extra unnecessary burden upon its priests.
Rome should be in compliance with the NT and allow the priests to marry.
The fact is that when the Church ever veered in the direction of married priests they always had to pull it back and bring in celebrate monks to fix the problems that always cropped up. They found through experience that a priest needs to be dedicated to Jesus and his ministry exclusively. That is why in the Orthodox church a married priest cannot become a bishop.
There is something really beautiful about a man who dedicates himself exclusively in such a way. Like JPII.
