Actually it is a fun sport to play, it's just not a great spectator sport. That is unless you love to waste hours watching 1-0 barn burners, with players falling out like they were shot, writhing on the grass after incidental contact.

I can’t watch this most boring sport

I've come to like it. At least they play. An NFL game is six minutes of actual game play sprinkled into a three hour ordeal of commercials, replays, commercials, talking head analysis, and more commercials.

I fear that if soccer ever got really popular in the U.S., the television networks would throw enough money at the game to corrupt all concerned -- and before long, there would be timeouts and commercial breaks on every throw in and whistle. And they'd outlaw goalkeepers to run up the scoring.
